After awarding Orosound during Connecting the World contest last year, Avnet gave us the opportunity to run a stand at SIdO, the Internet of Things Showroom in Lyon on April 6th and 7th. Set up in Lyon for the second time, the showroom gathered more than 5 000 IoT professionals, becoming a major event for those who strive to develop the Internet of Things.
For the first time, 50 innovative start-up companies were invited to showcase their products alongside well-established companies such as Avnett Memec Silica, Schneider or Orange. It was a chance for these renowned companies to find out more about the latest IoT innovations, and for us to introduce our wireless noise-control earphones to be released in February 2017.
We shared our enthusiasm for well-being improvement at work and particularly in open-spaces, we showed off how our smart earphones operate, but we didn’t forget to wander along the aisles of the showroom. Among many electronic components suppliers, we came across Pepper, the humanoid robot from Aldebaran, and had a nice chat with him despite the surrounding noise (we’ll send him a pair of our earphones!). He was not the only robot we ran into as several telepresence robots bumped into us. We eventually found our way home thanks to iGirouette, the ultra connected directional sign displaying locations, durations and distances with a LED screen.
All in all, we met wonderful people and discovered brilliant projects at the showroom. We can’t wait for next year’s!
