It’s official: Orosound earphones will soon be available for pre-order on Kickstarter. We wanted to take some time to explain how pre-orders will work and why we’re choosing to launch our earphones through a popular crowdfunding platform like Kickstarter.
Let’s start at the beginning:
What is Kickstarter?
Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform that helps creators bring their projects to life. A huge range of projects and products have become reality thanks to Kickstarter: art, music, movies, games, technology… the list goes on and on!
Since 2009, Kickstarter has helped many projects go from idea to reality. Six films funded using the platform have received Academy Award nominations (one of which, Inocente, took home an Oscar in 2013). World-class museums including MoMA, the Walker Art Center, and the Smithsonian have exhibited artwork made possible with the support of Kickstarter’s community. Technological innovations have made big splashes, and a dozen or so projects have been to outer space.
Okay, so how does it work?
We’ve been working on our Kickstarter page for months already. We’ve been putting together all the information you’ll need to get to know the ins and outs of our earphones: the design and functionalities, intended uses, in-depth explanations of the tech for the audiophiles out there, etc. We’re also including a timeline of our next steps, and we’ll introduce you to the Orosound team and everyone who has helped us make our earphones a reality. As soon everything is ready, we’ll launch the project, and its future will be in your hands!
Our “funding goal” will be right on the front of our page, and we’ll explain in detail where that money will go. Those of you who like our project can support it by pre-ordering your very own pair of Orosound earphones (or several pairs, if you know people who could use some). If we reach our funding goal (Hooray!), your debit or credit card will be charged the amount of your pledge at the end of our Kickstarter campaign, and then we’ll be fully equipped to get the earphones made and to your mailbox on time. If for whatever reason we don’t hit our goal (?), no one’s card will be charged: the funding is an all-or-nothing system.

Everyone who supports us on that platform will have access to a dedicated space where we’ll keep you in the loop every step of the way. You can get email updates, too, and you’ll have a comment-and-questions area where you can share your thoughts with us, and we’ll be around to respond.
